We know, work in your home is generally anything but fun, it is a stressful mix of noise, dust, costly “surprises” and going way over schedule and budget. The Team Perfect Hang experience is nothing like that.
People generally don’t know what to expect or may be a little anxious when Team Perfect Hang comes out and starts hanging pictures. As we begin performing our service, our customers realize that the Team Perfect Hang service takes something that in the past has been a real stressor and makes it amazingly quick, easy and unexpectedly enjoyable.
Once we start hanging pictures the relief can be palpable. We’ve received comments like “I can’t believe I used to do this on my own” to “This is like Christmas for adults”. To a homeowner who has dealt with the frustration and imperfection of hanging their own pictures, there is one resounding feeling: never again!
SCHEDULING YOUR PROJECT
PREPARING FOR YOUR PROJECT
We can help you estimate the length of our appointment but it can vary, but for scheduling purposes you can assume we can hang 7-10 pieces per hour.
When scheduling your project, we will provide you with as small an arrival window as possible. Please understand that we can’t always predict project durations accurately as our customers often add additional pieces to our project while we are there. When scheduling your project, please inform us of any parking information that can help us park as closely and inexpensively as possible to your location.
If you have recently moved or have recently completed a renovation, it is critical that your furniture is permanently placed and we recommend that your walls are painted before we arrive. It is also beneficial to place each piece that will be installed in the room in which it will be displayed. If possible, place each piece on the floor against the wall below where you feel it should be hung (See below)
Performing this step will give you a feel for how each piece will fit into each room/space. We also recommend that young children not be present during our service or at least in a different part of the house from the wall hanging
ON YOUR SCHEDULED DAY
WE COME FULLY PREPARED
Team Perfect Hang will text or email you a reminder of our visit around 8 am. You will also receive a message after we finish with the appointment directly preceding your project with our estimated time of arrival (within 5-10 minutes depending on traffic and parking).
Typically, we can hang between 7-10 pictures an hour. However, we have had experiences where we spent as much as 4 hours on one macrame wall hanging or hung as many as 30 pictures in one hour. Please understand that each project is unique and times vary.
We will come fully prepared to respect you and your home by wearing face masks on request, wearing shoe protectors and performing our wall hanging with clean tools. We also come prepared to respect the privacy of your home and your pictures and we will never shoot videos or take pictures of our work in your home.
We will also arrive with dozens of differing types of wall hanger nails, anchors and picture frame hardware to help us navigate any unique wall hanging situations that may
arise.
- Note that we will not come with ladders unless you have pictures to be hung above 8’ high so
please let us know ahead of time - Please inform us if your pictures will be hung on concrete, hard plaster or steel walls so that we bring the necessary tools.
- If you need any TVs mounted, please reach out to us prior to our scheduled visit to coordinate any required TV mounts
YOUR ROLE DURING THE PROJECT
WE WON’T CRAMP YOUR STYLE
Please understand that we understand the standards of where everything should be typically displayed on walls. You can read our white paper on it, let us know and we’ll email it to you. We also understand it is your home and your project, so we will work with you in terms of design, as much or little as you would like us to be involved. We can provide you with our opinion or take your direction as you see fit.
We prefer to start with a quick walk-through of the entire project where we go into each room and quickly review each piece. Once we start the project, your role is entirely up to you. Some of our clients stay with us and manage the entire project, others offer varying degrees of input, some follow us around just to observe, while many leave us alone during the work. If you choose to leave us to the project and our design-sense, we may reach out to you to get your input or approval, if needed
THE WALL HANGING
WE MOVE FAST WITH PRECISION
We use our own tools and a proprietary app which we have developed specifically for wall hanging. These tools and this app allow us to perform wall hanging faster, more efficiently and more precisely than anyone in this space.
One of the tools we use is a laser which places a green level and plumb crosshair on the wall and allows us much greater precision when placing pieces. The laser is generally safe, but there is a warning on the label to not look directly at the source of the laser. Therefore, we recommend that you never look at the actual tool while it is in use. We also ask that you keep small children away to ensure their safety.
At the project’s completion, we would like to review the project with you, to make sure that you are satisfied with the work. During this process, we will make sure we didn’t forget any items or overlook any rooms.
If for any reason you want to move an item after it has been hung, this is a very simple fix.
We always come with wall patch that will set and is paintable in 5 minutes. We also have 9 touch up paint colors (mostly whites, and a couple of grays and earth- tones). We can also fix small holes, dents and dings that you have around the house. For best results have your homes wall paints ready for any touch-ups.
PROJECT COMPLETION
PAYMENT
We charge $90.00 per man hour with a minimum charge of ~$135.00 depending on the project location. Please note that if you live in a high-rise we currently allow the minimum to be split amongst jobs in the same buildings as long as we schedule and coordinate the work with only one client.
Along with the hourly rate there is a small surcharge for each hanger, which is usually ~75 cents per hanger, and metered parking is reimbursable.
Please understand that we have different rates for hanging pictures above 8’ high (ladder-work) or pictures that weigh in excess of 50 pounds. These types of projects are much more difficult, challenging and delicate.
We also have different rates if an individual piece of art is valued in excess of $2500. Please inform us of your piece’s value if it fits this criteria.
We always appreciate cash as the best form of payment, but we also accept Zelle. Unfortunately, we no longer accept credit cards.
